THEATRE ARTS & OPPORTUNITIES IS FOUNDED IN THE KNOWLEDGE THAT ARTS HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE LIVES.
Theatre Arts & Opportunities Foundation, Inc. is fully invested in the creation of theatre programs where they would otherwise not exist. Emphasis is placed on the discipline of play writing and performing through which both artistic and life skills are learned, while a sense of community and purpose is developed.
SENIOR THEATRE
Theatre Arts and Opportunities provides theater classes for seniors. Currently classes are taught at Cascades Assisted Living in Bethel, Newtown Senior Center, and the Cyrenius Booth Library. These classes teach all aspects of theatre skills, including playwriting, acting, improv and singing.
INSIDEOUT YOUTH THEATRE
Children and young adult theater programs in the community read and perform plays written by and for students. These plays have themes consistent with personal growth, maturity and facing the myriad of issues young people face in today’s world.
NEW ON THE BLOG
Greetings! All here at TAO hope this posting finds you and your families healthy and safe. While much has been still during this unprecedented time, TAO has kept moving forward.
While Theatre Arts and Opportunities teachers have not been able to enter DOC facilities due to the pandemic, we have been busy.
Well here it is, early spring in Connecticut and all is very quiet. TAO teachers have been home in accordance with guidelines from the Governor and DOC to stay put.
As 2019 winds to a close, TAO is taking the opportunity to reflect on the growth and development of our programs as we prepare for another exciting year of theatre.
Theatre Arts & Opportunities is made possible by the generous contributions of our supporters. Please consider donating and join our mission towards changing lives through the arts.
