WHEN ONE RISES, WE ALL RISE.
All Rise Performances is a theater project created for the participation of those returning to their communities following a period of incarceration, along with local actors. It provides an outlet to begin or continue to write and perform. We believe the opportunity to participate in a creative endeavor is productive and inspiring. It also provides a social and communal environment which builds friendships and support systems.
Over the last four years All Rise Performances has produced ten staged readings and full productions of work written by members of the Actors and Playwrights Program. Our goal is to grow in numbers and find a permanent performance location.
Theater is home.
CROSSED SWORDS - AUGUST 30, 2020
Crossed Swords was written by seven members of the Actors and Playwrights program at Garner CI, in Newtown CT. It is a powerful and important work which examines the history of Civil Rights in the United States through the eyes and hearts of historical figures, shining a light on the centuries long struggle for equality. In partnership with The Brookfield Theatre for the Arts, Theatre Arts and Opportunities was able to record a Zoom production, making this exciting piece available for all to see.
